Amelia's adventures at the Renaissance Festival (videos)

» Read similar stories filed under:

Once upon a time, a princess named Amelia had an adventure in a land not far from here.

Some strange but fun people settled in a town not like any other town around here. There snake charmers, fairies, a hypnotist, queens and kings, a giant swing, a secret garden, knights, genies' magic bottles, delicious food, Joe Wagner, fencing, jesters, tomfoolery in general, and much more.

It's deep in the woods off of Highway 169 in Louisville Township, north of Jordan. It's called the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. See more of Amelia's adventure in these videos:

When Boeckman turned 17, he joined the Navy. He was still a junior in high school, but there was a war on. Boeckman spent his two years of service during World War II near the Philippines, sitting on a bucket with his head between his knees.

He came home and went back to school. ...
