BaseballProspectus.com's Joe Sheehan bashed the Minnesota Twins and half-heartedly endorsed the Chicago White Sox in his recent forecast of which teams will make the playoffs. (Read the article by clicking here. Sports Illustrated picked up the story for its Web site.)
Not that the Twins are a shoe-in to win the American League Central Division, but they certainly don't need to make a "surprising trade," as Sheehan insists.
Last week, the Cleveland Indians completed a triple steal. It was sort of dumb luck, actually.
One of their runners got picked off on first, the runners on first, second, and third broke, and the throw home was bad but not bad enough to call it an error. This happened against the chronically ill-fated Chicago White Sox. Ha, ha!
Neither manager was particularly proud of the event.
I, for one, think it's pretty cool. I'm just glad it didn't happen against the Minnesota Twins.
Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle, who I dislike but also admittedly have in my fantasy pitchers pool, better celebrate now.
