Wagner Bros. Apple Orchard's sign along Highway 169 said something to the effect of "Suspenders are the oldest form of social security."

That was today's quippy quote. I'm sure there will be something interesting again tomorrow.  

I am continually amused by the frequently changing sign next to the funeral home. 

My friend and I, on a trip to an arcade game auction, had a brief discussion about the escalating price of gasoline. He offered this overly simplified explanation of one possibility as to why gas could reach record heights this summer:

As hybrid and fuel efficient cars become more common, people are buying less and less gas. In turn, gas companies raise their prices to make up the difference.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be on a trade mission to India from Oct. 20-27.

His wife, Mary, and others are going along in the accompanying delegation.
