The Jordan Honor Guard has lasted 50 years. 

Its roster includes Duane Deutsch, Randy Eckstein, Gene Eichten, Tom Hennen, Mike Hennen, Merv Hennes, Lanny Holzer, Elmer Jabs, Tom Kes, Cliff Klehr, Butch Mamer, Oliver Nichols, Myron Pauly, Elmer Pieper, Dennis Smith, Les Thill, Rich VonBank, Chuck Wermerskirchen, Paul Wermerskirchen, and Cy Wolf.

Earlier this weekend, I was reading an article online about expectations for the weekend box office. The article mentioned that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was (which is today) had become something of a cash cow for movie theaters, because most students have the day off (including Jordan’s students).

The Jordan School Board took a moment of silence during its January meeting to honor the memory of Jordan High School graduate Pfc. Joshua Anderson, who was killed in Iraq earlier this month.

“We need to give some gratitude back to the young man that was out there for us,” Board Member Joe Benko said.
