Superintendent Larry Kauzlarich told the Jordan School Board at their meeting Monday that Elementary School Principal Stacy DeCorsey was one of three principals being considered as principal of the year for Minnesota.
The winner will go on to represent the state at a national competition, Kauzlarich said. A winner will be announced in May.
The honor is awarded by DeCorsey’s peers, Kauzlarich said.
Jordan Elementary School has SMART boards in all second-, third-, and fourth-grade classrooms at the school, according to Principal Stacy DeCorsey’s written report to the Jordan School Board.
The staff at the school visited East Union Elementary School in Carver to learn how to better incorporate the boards into their teaching.

Jordan Elementary School began its Northwestern Education Association (NWEA) testing this week, according to Principal Stacy DeCorsey.
