Board votes to keep school resource officerMay 12, 2008 - 9:44pm — BrandonThe Jordan School Board voted tonight to keep paying for a school resource officer, but the school liaison’s position could still be in jeopardy. The issue came to the board after Superintendent Larry Kauzlarich and the superintendents of the five other member districts in the Minnesota River Valley Special Educational Cooperative decided to make a recommendation to the cooperative’s board to cut their funding for the position. The cooperative, the Jordan district, and the City of Jordan each pay about 1/3 of resource officer Shane Schultz’s $58,000 salary. Police respond to accidents, medical callsMay 10, 2008 - 10:13am — BrandonLast week, the Jordan Police Department responded to 108 incidents – 11 citations, 22 warning citations, and 75 calls for service. April 26 at 11:23 p.m. – An unknown 911 call was received from an address along Juergens Circle. Officers responded to the address and found a man intoxicated and out of control. The man was transported to St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee and placed on a 72-hour hold. Family, friends were ‘everything’ to CobbMay 8, 2008 - 10:24am — BrandonWhen Walter “Wally” Cobb died in a motorcycle accident last week, he left behind two sons, and a family that wasn’t your traditional family unit. Cobb and his ex-wife Nanci Barlau remained close friends after their 11-year marriage ended. “We were more of a family after our divorce,” she said.
