Terry Stier, 46, is a firefighter. He is serving his 23rd year with the Jordan Fire Department. Stier lives in the Wilson addition.
Stier recently took some time to answer questions from the JI.
JI: What are your hobbies and interests?
TS: Fishing and hunting.
JI: Who is your favorite Jordan firefighter? Why?
TS: We have a number of people on our department that I would consider favorite. We all (are) a vital part and are willing to do what it takes to get the job done. I feel that my family could call anyone from the department, present or past Jordan Fire Department member, and they would help if they could.
JI: What advice would you give for someone who might want to become a Jordan firefighter?
TS: Be willing to commit to a long-term commitment. Talk (it) over with (your) spouse or other family members. It is a great organization to belong to (and) be a part of. … Also, be ready to get a nickname. Everyone that comes on will get one eventually. You more than likely will get a hard time or picked on for whatever we can. Be willing to be part of a great group of people that will become great friends or even, say, family.
