Don’t mind me, I’m just a hypocrite

So the caterer for my upcoming wedding needs a final head count of guests (or at least out closest approximation) later this week, which puts me in the unfortunate position of being a hypocrite.

See, I’m always that guy – the guy who doesn’t send the RSVP card in before the deadline (if I send it at all). I’m that guy who shows up at the wedding when the couple had pretty much counted me out of their plans.

So my fiancée Molly has asked me to round up some of my invited guests and find out if they are coming to the wedding despite their inability to return the RSVP card. I understand that it’s a necessary step, and that it will help out with the wedding planning (something I’ve told Molly to have me do anytime she needs help). But it does make me something of a hypocrite.

I've been explaining in each request for an RSVP that I'm sorry to be a hypocrite for asking, so I'm hoping my friends will forgive me this minor infraction. I guess there could be worse ways to be a hypocrite, though.
