Who's running in local elections this year?
Your local newspaper is watching and will be reporting on several races in the upcoming elections to governmental positions representing the city of Jordan or Helena, Sand Creek, St. Lawrence, or Spring Lake townships.
- Scott County County Commissioner District 2 (no incumbent): Anthony D. Albright, Spring Lake Township; Chris Olson, Spring Lake Township; Tom Wolf, Savage
- Minnesota House of Representatives District 35B: Mark Buesgens (incumbent), R-Jordan; Taylor Kristoffe-Jones, Savage; Tom Rees, Elko New Market
- Minnesota House of Representatives District 25B (which includes Helena Township): David Bly (incumbent), DFL-Northfield; Tim Rud, R-Lonsdale
- Minnesota House of Representatives District 34A (which includes St. Lawrence Township): Paul Kohls (incumbent), R-Victoria; Marcia Krueger, DFL-Norwood-Young America
- Minnesota's Second Congressional District: John Kline, R-Minn.; Steve Sarvi, DFL-Minn.
- There are uncontested candidates for the local seats on the Scott Soil and Water Conservation District board. Ewald Gruetzmacher, Belle Plaine, Scott Soil and Water Conservation District1; Paul Krueger, Prior Lake, Scott Soil and Water Conservation District 3
