As part of the year-end awards handed out at Jordan High School, several students each year are recognized for their achievements in and commitment to the school’s music programs.

In band, the top music student is given the John Phillips Sousa award. This year’s winner was Marcus Swiontek.

Swiontek and Lauren Mauk both won outstanding performance awards.

Emma Alden-Connor and Nick LaMoore (not pictured) were selected for all-state orchestra honors.

Mauk was recognized for her vocal abilities, too. She won the choral award while Craig Flores (right) won the director’s award. (Photos by Ron Mornson)
