In anticipation of the Jordan Fire Department’s 125th anniversary earlier this month, your local newspaper has been running a sporadic series of Q&A's with Jordan firefighters.

You've read about Kevin Adamek, Jason Allen, Brian Anderson, Jonathan Brandtner, Randy Breegemann, Mike Briese, Nate Briese, Tim Draheim, Jason Guggisberg, Kenny Hayden, David Holzer, Scott Kochlin, Dale Oldenburg, Gregg Pekarna, Scott Petersen, and Jason Skorczewski.

Many of them wrote about the John Travolta movie “Ladder 49” and how realistic it seemed.

I’ll be honest – I was inspired.

So many of the firefighters answered the same way that I figured I better just run up to the library and check out the movie. I watched it last week, and the firefighters were right. I don't know what fighting a fire is like, but I was touched by the movie.
