The Jordan
softball team took the first step to the state tournament when they defeated
United South Central 13-2 in five innings on Tuesday night.

The Jaguars are the No. 1 seed in Class AA Section 2 tournament
and received a bye into the second round of the playoffs.

Once they got to play they showed everybody why they received
the top seed.

After USC scored two runs in the top of the first inning, Jordan
answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning when Katie Moriarty, Sam
Pieper and Kelsey Kes all scored after collecting three straight hits.

In the third inning, Kes and Jordan Puls scored on Heidi Laabs
double to give the Jaguars a 5-2 lead.

The fourth inning was when the Jaguars pulled away. They scored
eight runs to take a 13-2 lead.
