I've been goofing around on Facebook for a few months, making "friends" (who are really already my friends, or else they're randomly long-lost acquaintances) and such.
It's a time waster, for the most part.
But I was feeling a bit down today (finances can be a struggle), and when I took a break to go to Facebook, I got the pick-me-up I needed.
Recently, the basketball team that I coached this year had been comparing me with their other friends on Facebook. It's a game called Compare People. Two of your friends' photos will show up on the screen and the game will prompt you something like, "Who is a better friend?" Here's what my ballplayers said about me (that they would allow me to see):
- funnier
- more helpful
- braver
- better singerĀ
Overall, when I'm compared to my friends on Facebook, I'm:
- a harder worker
- more attractive
- better at science
- a better public speaker
- more entertaining
- more artisticĀ
I like the thought of being more artistic, more attractive, a better public speaker, more entertaining, funnier, more helpful, braver, better at science (not sure about this one), and ... well, a better singer.
I'm not sure to whom I was being compared, but I don't mind getting some positive feedback. At least they don't ask questions like, "Who is uglier?" or "Who is the meaner coach?" Not sure how the guys who I coached in basketball would answer those questions.
One thing is for sure -- I must've been compared to a pretty bad singer.
