Here's what's been going on in and around New Prague lately, according to the New Prague Times:
- The sixth annual bird swap took place at the New Prague community
center. Attendees could buy, sell, or trade their common, exotic, or
game birds -- including roosters, pigeons, and peacocks.
- Habitat for Humanity officials surprised Tess Howard of New Prague on April 4 by telling her in person that she would receive an interest-free mortgage on a refurbished home. She will be required to work 300 so-called "sweat equity" hours on the property and to attend financial management classes.
- Students showed their art at the New Prague library last week.
- Organizations are invited to adopt a city park in New Prague.
- The Times printed a spring sports preview last week.
