The first clue in Belle Plaine's annual Shamrock Medallion hunt is out in the Belle Plaine Herald today. Here goes:
Hats off to Larry Bratsch, treasure hunter extraordinaire,
If Heaven has a medallion hunt, he is surely there.
Morning, noon or night is the time to strike,
Lots of history here, maybe take your bike.
One treasure per year, a window of hope,
Set you goals high; put me in the scope.
Get out of bed, it's the break of the day,
Be the predator, not the prey.
Old Glory is present, stay tru to the riddle,
When you play in Texas, remember your fiddle.
This premium is too high, go to the rules,
It may be a blessing if you have the right tools.
Mahoney and Dalys, O'Briens and Baileys,
Our Heritage is strong; there's even some Healys.
No need to blubber, I'm going to be blunt,
There is no crying in this medallion hunt.
Look through the picture or out of the bay,
This blast from the past just might make your day.
Our man Grayson holds the bragging rights,
He's the one to beat, I'm sure I'm in his sights.
If you undersand this clue, you're better than I am at this treasure hunting stuff. What do you think it means?
