The staff at the school visited East Union Elementary School in Carver to learn how to better incorporate the boards into their teaching.
Here are some of the other points in DeCorsey’s report to the board:
- Eight elementary teachers will attend Response to Intervention training Jan. 21 in Belle Plaine. The staff was invited to join in the Belle Plaine elementary school’s training.
- Jill Exum, who manages the elementary school’s kitchen, will attend a healthy foods training Jan. 24. The training is presented by the Minnesota Department of Health, and the information Exum learns will be shared with the middle and high schools in Jordan.
- Blessings in a Backpack serves more than 60 students. Donations are coming in, and the Minnesota Valley Electrical Cooperative held a food drive during Christmas that helped stock the shelves. The program also received a food donation of over $1,000 from a Jordan family that wishes to remain anonymous. This is the second time the family has donated.
