The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's latest job vacancy survey says this about greater Minnesota:

- About 65,000 people are competing for 25,000 jobs.

- The median wage for an open job is $9 an hour.

- Forty percent of the open jobs are part time. 

- Only 13 percent of the open jobs require a four-year college degree.
