225 Water Street Creative Arts & Holding Company is looking for the next best “Trash-formation” artist. The contest is open to found object artists (10-100) that want to express their creative abilities using reclaimed materials. There is no fee to enter.

Art Specifications:
1. Materials that would otherwise be trash.
2. Media of your choice that conveys the 3R's, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Judging Criteria:
1. Use of Recycled Materials.
2. Creativity & Functionality.
3. Originality.
4. Level of Effort

Before you visit garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, antique malls, estate sales and auctions for pieces to transform, clear out your own spaces to see what you can discover. Start a mosaic tile treasure chest with the "bits n' pieces" you already have. Save broken dishes, jewelry, keys, small toys, game pieces and glass figurines.

During this mosaic tile course, you will learn “Pique Assiette” direct method mosaic tile construction. We will cover the basics of mosaic tile materials, mosaic tile tools, cutting methods and applications. The skills acquired in this class can be applied to limitless mosaic projects. Once you get started with this amazing art form beware, nothing is safe from you and your glue. Creative design ideas are available but we hope you’ll bring a few of your own.

My Favorite Pancakes from VegCooking

Fluffy pancakes are great with fresh fruit or pure maple syrup. If you are a “chocoholic,” try adding 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the batter. For a tropical taste, add chopped macadamia nuts and shredded coconut to the batter, and serve these cakes with sliced bananas warmed in maple syrup.

1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup soy milk
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil

We would like to buy a lot with a pond on it. If a person fell through the ice, or just drowned on the pond who is responsible? All the lots are or will be partly owned buy the lot owner. How can we find the laws of a pond. Sincerely, Cheryl
