Kids say the darnedest things, don't they?

I got this e-mail from Mary Hanek last week:

"Thanks for the article in the paper on the Mill Pond. It's great to hear people's stories and think about how my 8-year-old will someday have stories to tell -- his own 'history' with the Mill Pond during this process. (Just yesterday he said the pond was like Old Country Buffet for the gulls and cranes -- they have lots of kinds of fish to choose from and the curly leaf pond weed is like the salad bar!) He's also been stuck up to his knees in the muck ... a delightful mess, I can tell you."

What their parents say is equally important, though. Consider the end of Hanek's message to me:

"Please keep the stories about the Mill Pond coming during this process. The human interest stories are great, and you can help curb the misinformation that inevitably floats around when people don't have a reliable source."

Mary, you are right on.
