In 2002, the Jordan city staff told the city council that a fence owned by resident Ken Crane was encroaching on city property.
Crane, who recently died, had built a small portion of his split-rail fence in Lagoon Park. When the city realized the mistake, the fence had already been there for many years, and the council at the time decided to move the park boundary, enlarging Crane's front yard.
On Sept. 17, the council unanimously passed a motion for the city administrator to exercise a quit claim that would add about 817 square feet of Lagoon Park to the Crane's estate.
