Well, week one of the fantasy football season has come and gone, but it couldn’t go fast enough for me. My team got beat in both leagues in which I’m a member.

My Otte Football League was probably my most embarrassing loss, though. It wasn’t the worst loss points-wise (I was beat down 109-77), but my 95-70 loss at the hands of my uncle was pretty bad for one reason only: defense. Last week, I decided to drop the Jacksonville defense in hopes of an upgrade. Instead, my Dallas defense scored me a whopping -1 points. I had points subtracted because they were so awful.

What kind of unit goes out and takes points off the board? I need to do something to fix that, and fast!

To top it off, I only scored 10 points on the newspaper’s pick’em game. My 10 points rank me in the Southwest Newspapers VIPs only above one other reporter (who has nine points) and Editor Mathias Baden (who has three points). Yikes.
