In 2005, when I first saw the flick "Fever Pitch" in 2005, I didn't like it. I'm sure my darling wife thought of me as the Ben Wrightman (played by Jimmy Fallon) of Minnesota Twins fans.
But last week, I bought the movie on sale for $5. It was funnier than I remembered.
One great line: "You're a romantic," Lindsey Meeks (played by Drew Barrymore) tells boyfriend (Fallon). "You have a lyrical soul. You can love under the best and worst conditions."
They are in a park. Wrightman gets down on both knees, opens a ring box. Inside it are two tickets to the Boston Red Sox's opening day.
Love it!
