A proclamation of the Jordan City Council:

"PROCLAMATION

"JORDAN AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL WEEK --  2007

"Whereas, the citizens of Jordan have a long history of supporting the great game of baseball; and

"Whereas, the Jordan Legion baseball team won the 2007 state Division II Legion baseball tournament on Aug. 12, 2007; and

"Whereas, the Jordan Legion baseball team wont he Midwest region Division II Legion baseball tournament on Aug. 19;

"Whereas, baseball has long been recognized as the national pastime of the United States of America; and

"Now, therefore, I, Mayor Ron Jabs and the city council of Jordan, do hereby call upon the citizens of Jordan to join the Jordan Legion team in celebrating their 2007 tournament victories.

"Further, let it be resolved that I, the mayor, and the city council do hereby proclaim Sept. 9-15, 2007, as Jordan Legion Baseball Week in the city of Jordan, located in Scott County.

"Proclaimed this fourth day of September, 2007."
