Jordan Public Works Director Dave Bendzick said today that city residents are using less water than they had been last month.

On one day in July, residents used a record 1.6 million gallons of water. Including that day, residents topped 1 million gallons on three days last month.

"We needed the rain," Bendzick said.

The wells are getting much needed rest, he added.
