Tony Schimmel, owner of Mixit Productions, took out a special event permit for the 10th anniversary of his business today (Monday).
The event will take place at his home, 755 Marion Lane, on Sept. 1, when he will be expecting to host 150 people. The party will run from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., alcohol will be served to an of-age crowd, and a disc jockey will play music until 10 p.m.
All of Schimmel's neighbors have been invited.
The permit cost nothing, but Jordan Police Chief Bob Malz said it's a good idea to take out a permit for an event that is meant to draw 100-plus people. If the police know about the event, they can explain any noise to potential complaintants.
