Jordan Fire Chief Steve Kochlin told the city council last month that fire calls had decreased in number since last year.
The minutes of the July 16 council meeting showed the statistics to back up the statement:
- In the first half of 2006, the fire department received 63 fire calls. In the first half of this year, it received 53.
- In the first half of 2006, local firefighters put in 2,576 activity and training hours. In the first half of 2007, activity and training hours had decreased to 1,797.
The minutes of the meeting passed unanimously.
