11 school board candidates face off in primary

» Read similar stories filed under:

The election for the three open seats on the Jordan School Board will include a primary this year.

The 11 candidates who have filed afidavits of candidacy for three open school board chairs are Sheila Bauer, Kimberly Busse, Robert Carman, Heidi Dibble, Scott Erickson, Dave Helke, Gregory Leahy, Dan Ray, Jeffrey Thorsfeldt, and incumbents Robert Vollbrecht and Tammy Will.

Board Chairman Ira Bekcman did not file for candidacy.

Because the number of candidates is more than twice the number of open seats, the candidates will face off in a September primary.

The filing period for candidacy ends July 17. The board seats open during the election are those held by Beckman, Vollbrecht, and Will.
