I’m in Utah right now. On my trip, I’ll be crossing Nevada, Utah and Arizona off my list of visited states. My goal is to hit all 50 before I die. By the end of this trip, I’ll only be almost halfway there (approximately 23 states, if I’m counting correctly).

This is exciting for me for three reasons:

1. I get to color in three more states on the U.S. map on which I keep track of my visits (with a color-coded key and everything!).
2. I can add another photo collage to my collection of personal vacation photo collages (I have three now in the three years since I graduated from college).
3. I’m going to the southwest, an area of the U.S. I’ve never seen before. My only hope is that it is as beautiful as “Back to the Future III” and the opening segment of “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” make it out to be.
