I looked up at the scoreboard late in the Minnesota Twins game last night to see the words I never wished I'd see: "Clemens signs with Yankees." 

Is anyone else having nightmares about the ill-fated hometown team facing Roger Clemens in the playoffs and being blugeoned once again in October by the New York Yankees?

Adding Clemens, arguably the best pitcher of my lifetime, to the Yankees might turn around the Bronx Bombers' season. It might also spell doom for the Twinks, who seem to have a problem winning in October against Major League Baseball's biggest of the big spenders.

I'm just praying that it's too late, that the Boston Red Sox have already built enough of a lead to win their division and hopefully keep the Yanks out of the playoffs. We will see ... we will see.
