Two slow-pitch softball teams with a Jordan connection kick off their seasons this week.

Hoggsbreath (we might change that name) plays its first game Thursday in Blaine. The Pink Sox (I wish we would change that name) play their first double-header of the year Wednesday at Como Park in St. Paul.

Mathias Baden (that's me), editor of the Jordan Independent, plays second base, catcher, and pitcher for the teams. He is new to the Pink Sox, but this is his ninth season as a member of Hoggsbreath (or the same team with a varying name).
