Deb Pint reports:

A pre-development agreement either with or without an escrow was approved by the Jordan City Council at mid-April meeting.

This agreement will be used to review sketch plans, grading permits or building permits along with preliminary and final plants.

Both of the agreements allow the city to incur $500 prior to billing to the developer. This amount is typically used in initial meetings with the developer when they first show interest in doing a project.

These agreements will become part of the application process.

City Planner Joe Janish told the council that these agreements ensure that the city will receive timely payment for the applications that are being processed for new development.

"It also helps in putting developers, builders and others on notice that they are responsible for the costs the city of Jordan incurs during their project," Janish explained.
