Deb Pint reports:

The Jordan City Council voted to increase the water meter fee schedule to match the increase in the cost of installation.

The fee increases from $260 to $285, which will cover the cost of a regular 5/8-inch meter and attached radio-reading system for new construction of residential homes. Larger meters are billed out at cost, plus a 10 percent markup.

Tom Nikunen, city finance director, said the system is user friendly and no additional programming is needed when the units are installed. The system is set to track the meter to the property when the meter is signed out to the plumber for installation.
