Wooddale Peeps: The Peeps take the field.In last night’s inaugural game of the first-ever Wooddale Peeps softball season, the Peeps lost to Beyond Al’s Bar 12-3. At one point our team (the Peeps – from Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie and sponsored by Club Three Degrees in Minneapolis) was up by one, but a few fielding errors let Beyond Al’s Bar pull into a substantial lead. We tried for a late-inning rally, but couldn’t pull it off.

I played right center field. I wish I could say that I was an amazing player, but I missed my one opportunity at a catch because I wasn’t running fast enough. I also only got to bat once, because our team actually had to form two lineups because of the number of players we had. I hit the ball close to second base, where the baseman tagged the runner and ended the inning.

That was the end of my first softball game. I had a great time, though, and I can’t wait to play again next Tuesday.
