I’m planning on giving up TV for a week, starting at about 10 p.m. Wednesday night (or whenever I finish watching this week’s episode of "Lost"). I’m using the week as a dry run for National TV Turn Off Week April 23-29. With my test run, I can control when I start and end my week (rather than starting on Monday and ending on a Sunday night), which I hope will make it a little easier.
And by turning off my TV, I’m taking all-out TV exile. I won’t even be watching any DVDs during the week. The doors of my entertainment center will be closed. While my goal is to go a full week, I have a sneaking suspicion I won’t make it past Saturday. I plan on spending the time reading, writing and working on some projects around my apartment. I may even get a little exercise in.
You can read more about my TV decision in the April 5 edition of the Jordan Independent. And read the April 12 edition to find out if I was able to last a full week.
Any suggestions on how to remain TV-free in Jordan for a week would be greatly appreciated.
