Hard-working, fun-loving staff writer Brandon Otte and I have had an ongoing discussion (read: stubborn disagreement) about hotdish. He says it's casserole. We need your help to decide.
Webster's Dictionary is quite clear that the No. 1 meaning for the word casserole is as follows: earthenware, glass, or cast-iron dish in which food (read: hotdish) is baked and served.
Hotdish isn't a word according to the newspaper editor's fat dictionary, but I would define it thus: noodled food cooked in a casserole.
And that's the end of the argument. Or is it?
