Keeping up on the Minnesota Legislature can be difficult at times, but knowing what Jordan area legislators -- Sen. Claire Robling and Rep. Mark Buesgens, Sen. Julianne Ortman and Rep. Paul Kohls, and Sen. Tom Neuville and Rep. David Bly -- are doing is important.
Your legislators are often mentioned in a state publication called "Session Weekly." I find that the magazine is effective for keeping up on bills that are introduced or passed. The chief author's names are mentioned along with explanations of the bills.
The Minnesota House of Representatives' public information office just sent out the following links:
This week's "Session Weekly" is available online at www.house.mn./hinfo/SWKLY/2007-08/sw307.pdf [1]. Stories focus on: a report showing that Minnesotans are failing to pay more than $1 billion annually in taxes; the possibility that up to 25 percent of all electricity used in the state could be generated by wind; the governor's State of the State address; and a tour into the State Capitol's underbelly.
