Sorry, wrong number

I don’t get a lot of phone calls. There are two reasons for this, as far as I can figure:

So when I do get a phone call it comes as something of a surprise, especially when the call is from someone other than my family. And that’s why I love it when people call me on accident. I get the thrill of thinking someone actually wants to call me, without the hassle of actually having to talk to anyone for an extended period of time.

It’s a win-win situation.

Even better than wrong-number calls are wrong-number calls from land-line phones. Then I can track down the caller through online phone books and see from where I am being called. Yesterday, for example, I received a call from Sebeka. I didn’t know this without a map, but Sebeka is a small town northwest of Brainerd (closer to Wadena and Nimrod, actually). Because I don’t know of anyone from Sebeka who might want to call me, and because there was no message left, I assume it was a wrong number.

Where have you received wrong-number calls from? Do you answer your phone if you don’t recognize the caller’s number? Are you as excited by wrong numbers as I am? Have you ever been to Sebeka?
