The Grandma’s Marathon was held last
weekend in Duluth, Minn.,
and many Jordan
runners competed.
For the male race, Cory Davidson, 56, finished with a time of 3
hours, 36 minutes and 51 seconds to come in 771st place. Duane Birchem, 29,
finished the marathon in 4:26.03. Michael Schultz, 23, finished with a time of
4:44.16 and Tony Sopato, 45, ran it in 6:30.22.

The Jordan American Legion baseball team defeated Shakopee 12-8 on Tuesday, June 24 at Joe Schleper Stadium in Shakopee.
The Jordan Brewers defeated Victoria 6-4 on Tuesday night at the Mini-Met.
Elva Anna Fahrenkamp, 92, of Prior Lake, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, one hour prior to the service at church.

Thirty years ago, an aluminum canoe flew off the top of a car and hit another car driven by Wanda Lucius of Jordan. Lucius' car spun out of control. Beverly Dorn of Lydia, a passenger in the car, and Lucius ended up in separate hospitals.

Lawrence Hennes, 65, formerly of Jordan, passed away in Biloxi, Miss.
A memorial service was held June 10, 2008 at the Rambling River Center in Farmington.
The following are Scott County District Court felony and gross-misdemeanor dispositions. Defendants either pleaded guilty or were found guilty by the court unless otherwise indicated.
Candace Lynn Michalik, 55, Eden Prairie, theft by swindle, a felony. Two years' probation, 45 days in jail, provide DNA sample, restitution, $80 in fines.
Daniel Ray Monroe, 45, Farmington, driving after cancellation (inimical to public safety), a gross-misdemeanor. One year probation, 30 days in jail, $80 in fines.
