The Jordan volleyball team will not repeat as Class 2A volleyball
champs.
Their quest for a second state title ended Monday night when
they lost to Belle Plaine in straight sets 25-22, 26-24, 25-14 in
Class 2A, Section 2 action.
It is the third time that Belle Plaine has topped Jordan this year.
The second set was the crucial set as Belle Plaine built a 16-8
lead only to see Jordan come storming back and tie the game at
23-23. Belle Plaine regained the lead at 24-23 but Jordan tied it
again at 24-24 only to see Belle Plaine win the next two points and
the second set.
Third set was all Belle Plaine as they won the games final nine
points to end Jordan's season.
Kelsey Chambers finished the game with 20 kills.
