"I'm working very hard, clearly, on my wedding planning, doing most of the work, really," Otte says with sarcasm in his voice and a smile on his face. "Molly isn't isn't doing a whole lot, not carrying her weight." See and hear Otte in his vlog from yesterday: Jordan's waterfall freely flowsApril 15, 2008 - 2:03pm — Mathias BadenPretty much all of the ice is out of Sand Creek, where Jordan's waterfall freely flows alongside Lagoon Park. Celebrate Jordan (relive the live online broadcast)April 6, 2008 - 12:28pm — Mathias BadenThis year, the Jordan Independent tried something a little different at Celebrate Jordan – a live video broadcast. Using a computer Web camera and an internet connection, the booth of the Independent broadcast a live video feed on this site throughout the day. It was a trial run of something we hope to do again, so there are a few bugs yet to be worked out, and a few bugs that were worked out while we were at the annual Jordan event. See these videos Dehnbostel shot of the museum members talking about trains: Serious but also fun: Cub Scouts' newspaper visitJanuary 28, 2008 - 8:59pm — Mathias BadenDespite the fact that they meant to learn during their recent newspaper office visit, three Jordan Cub Scouts also had fun. They saw the messy desks of the three employees at the downtown office of the Jordan Independent, paged through back issues of the local paper, and made their own newspaper (read more about that on the print edition editorial page Jan. 31). They also tested some of the equipment used by reporters. Their favorite piece of equipment was the video camera. See? These two and Mitch Steinhoff are reporters in the making: Where the ‘old guys’ get their hair cut (with video)January 13, 2008 - 10:00am — Mathias BadenCandice Dehnbostel reports: Leo Mornson, 82, gives $8 haircuts in the back of the former Miller-Hartwig Insurance building. His one-room, one-chair barbershop is open to the regulars and newcomers to Jordan and the surrounding cities. Mornson decorates his shop with pictures of family and friends, a clock that chimes like a train every hour, and a gnome that overlooks his work from a top shelf against the wall. Last week, Mornson took some time with the Jordan Independent to share stories of his barbering and his life. Videos from a soldier's funeralJanuary 11, 2008 - 2:11pm — Mathias BadenU.S. Army Pfc.
