Earlier this summer, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources returned to Jordan’s Mill Pond to restock it with fish.
Despite protests from fishermen in Wright County, north of the Twin Cities, the DNR removed 750 bluegill (sunfish), 11 bass, and 250 crappies from Pelican Lake.
The DNR is monitoring fish population in the Mill Pond.
Also, the DNR cleared the city’s paperwork necessary for it to receive a fishing pier, Jordan Public Works Director Dave Bendzick said. The city’s order is in, but it might not be able to install the pier this summer. Bendzick told the city and DNR that he would like to try, even though typically the installation takes place on top of ice.
