Jordan lost a well-known face Saturday.

Dave Thoele, 45, and his passenger Mary Lofquist, 50, of Watertown, died in a motorcycle crash in Delano at about 5:20 p.m. Oct. 11.

A resident of Cologne, Thoele worked at the Jordan Ace Hardware store.

Thoele, driving the Harley Davidson motorcycle with Lofquist, laid the motorcycle on its side and slid under a Chevy Silverado pickup truck after being unable to make a curve.

Neither Thoele nor Lofquist were wearing a helmet.
