Hats off to our boys for shaking off last week's loss, and it's great to hear our defense is improving. Regardless of what comes next, this has been a fine football season for the Hubmen.

Defense improving???? Were you at the game on Friday night in Arlington? We gave up touchdowns and alot of offense to the the worst team in the MRC. I have said this all year. Probally the best offense I have seen in about 10 years and also at the same time the worst defense I have seen in about 20.

Still though, your right about hats off. I am glad the offense has been SO good this year. Looks like a home play off game for the Hubmen.

You are right the defense has been WEAK to say the least. I was not at the game, and I don't know the history of the opponent. If our boys hope to have any chances in playoffs, they'll need to dramatically improve their defense. Especially special teams--I have only been to 2 games this year and I saw 3 run-backs on a punt/kickoff.

Sibley East is riding a 13 game MRC losing streak. Hard times in Wolverine land.

Wednesday's game against NYA should be a good one. Good luck Hubmen!

Jason, please remember that these are high school kids on a high school team you are talking about when you speak of the defense being so bad (the worst in 20 years according to you). This is a public forum, and I don't think that a high school team should be under the same kind of scrutiny a pro team would. I know you're entitled to your opinion, but let's remember these are 16-18 year old KIDS.

Fatalbert makes a great point. It's fine to state the facts, such as "This year's team has given up X number of points in X number of games, the most since X year." But don't be too tough on them. With kids, as much as they provide a team for residents to rally around and as much as we want them to perform at a high standard (or at least play at a level of which we know they are capable), they are still kids. Keep working hard, boys. You're making this town proud!

Good post Tubbs I see nothing wrong with comparing this years teams to the teams of the past. We should celebrate our kids participation and thier accomplishments. There's nothing wrong with drawing some comparisions to past teams. It's not any different than a team that wins the conference being compared to the team that won it all or a team that doesn't win the conference being compared to one that did. People need to stop being so **** soft!!!!

I will never take anything away from the kids of Jordan sports. I have and will always be a supporter of all the JHS sport programs. But sometimes facts are facts. I have asked numerous players whats wrong with the defense, and they all say the same thing. I am very proud of each on of the players, they have had to deal with the need to put of at least 40 points to have a chance at winning this year and have done it many times. Good Luck this Wednesday over in Norwood.

The defense did keep Norwood...

Back to page top

The defense did keep Norwood out of the endzone, however, with 2:42 to go in the game, with the score 14-7, Norwood matches right down the field and drops a touchdown, with ball in his hands. My question to the Defense coach would be.....How come we let them throw that 8-9 yard pass on the side line 7 times in a row. I guess I would have made an adjustment and atleast jammed the wide reciever coming off the line of scrimmage. We play that soft 10 yard prevent defense and get burned all the time. I also liked the way that Norwood controlled the tempo of the game, really took the high scoring Jordan offense off the field. Good luck on Tuesday night Hubmen!
