The firefighters' case was added by two unfortunate fires that had occurred during the most recent week. It is located in the 200 block of Meridian Street. - The Belle Plaine superintendent of schools reached a three-year contract with the district. Kelly Smith will receive $123,100 this school year, $127,700 in 2008-2009, and $132,000 in 2009-2010. - Paraprofessionals in the Belle Plaine school district reached an accord with the district, as well. State fair accepting century farm applicationsMarch 26, 2008 - 5:46pm — sfieckeMinnesota families who have owned their farms for 100 years or more are encouraged to apply for the Minnesota State Fair's 2008 Century Farm program. The Century Farm program recognizes family farms according to three qualifications. The farm must be at least 100 years old according to authentic land records, in continuous family ownership for at least 100 years (continuous residence on the farm is not required) and at least 50 acres. Since its inception in 1976, a total of 8,694 Minnesota farms have been designated Century Farms. |
