Jordan High School crowned Ashley Hartman and Frank Betchwars as the 2009 homecoming queen and king Monday night. See photos staff writer Katrina Styx took during the coronation ceremony in the slide show below:
Okay, I am sorry but this is really sad and unfortunate! First of all, nothing was posted until almost 3:30pm and then it was the wrong information! I am sorry but things really seem to be lacking lately, in terms of showing us the things that are happening in our community, our schools and our wonderful town of Jordan!
I realize that it takes a lot to put a paper together every week but often when I turn to this site for football scores, school activity updates, etc the information is simply not even posted. What happened to the "breaking news"? You used to be able to pull up the site and see if the volleyball team or football team won the night before and now there is nothing at all. Not to mention the wrong names posted or today's cross country meet that wasn't actually canceled! Not only with this today but last week's JI had Tyler Oakes listed as the quarterback instead of Tanner Oakes.
It's just very disappointing to see such mistakes and lack of local information.
The Jordan High School program from Sept. 4 vs. Rockford listed Kramm as captain of the football team. I investigate all complaints of errors and will make sure that if I am aware of a fact that the JI reported in error, the newspaper will print a correction.
Thank you for letting me know.

Your local newspaper has made some errors recently. I'd like to be alerted to any errors or inaccuracies in the paper, so that they can be corrected and further errors can be averted.
In regard to the Tyler/Tanner mistake, there will be a correction on page 2 of this week's print edition.
The JI's online sports coverage can be found at http://scoreboard.mn/. There's a Jordan Web page with lots of information, and the scores, et cetera, are supposed to be posted in a timely fashion.
When breaking news occurs, it will still be posted as such. That feature will not be used for every sports score, however.
For what kind of school activity updates are you looking?
If the paper is lacking for local content, please offer your story ideas. Feel free to e-mail me anytime, or call 952-492-2224.

Great photos take time. I'm sure Katrina took each of those through Photoshop and made sure the lighting was all right. We could be faster, but we're doing the best we can.
This is the first time that we have offered the public almost all of the newspaper's photos of the homecoming coronation. I'm glad you noticed. They can be purchased at www.jordannews.smugmug.com.
We admit our mistakes, appreciate you letting us know about them, and will publish corrections as soon as possible.
