Weber-Lipinski family welcomes twins

Kari Weber and Jeff Lipinski of Shakopee announce the birth of their daughter Sarah Marie and their son Jacob Allen on April 9, 2008, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

Their baby boy was born at 4:53 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19-1/2 inches long.
Their baby girl was born at 5:06 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long.
Both of the twins have blue eyes and light brown hair.
Their grandparents are Karrye and Darrel Fiihr and Diane Martin of Shakopee and Ken and Mary Pieper of Jordan.


Scott County District Court report

The following are Scott County District Court felony and gross-misdemeanor dispositions. Defendants either pleaded guilty or were found guilty by the court unless otherwise indicated.

Robert Andrew Gau, 27, Belle Plaine, driving while intoxicated (DWI), a gross-misdemeanor. Two years’ probation, two days in jail, 28 days under electronic home-monitoring, $605 in fines.

Donna Marie Alexander, 55, Jordan, fifth-degree possession of controlled substance, a felony. Two years’ probation before conviction: evaluation/treatment, $425 in fines.

Hubmen fall

The Jordan Hubmen baseball team lost 8-1 to Le Sueur-Henderson on Thursday afternoon. It is the second time this year that Le Sueur-Henderson has beaten the Hubmen.


Jaguars playoff schedule

The Jordan softball team found out their path to the state tournament.

The Jaguars are the No. 1 seed for the Section 2AA tournament. Because they got the No. 1 seed, Jordan will receive a bye in the first round.

Their first game will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20 against United South Central or Le Center-Cleveland. The game will be played in Jordan.

Should they win that game, they will play at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at Caswell Park in Mankato.

Top teams in Section 2AA are St. Peter, who is the No. 4 ranked team in the state, Waseca and Maple River.

Funeral notice for Lucille C. (Hentges) Kreuser

Lucille Kreuser, 95, of Shakopee passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Mala Strana Care Center in New Prague.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 19, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church in Marystown with visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Jordan in Photos: Mill Pond reopens

The Mill Pond officially reopened to the public after an $838,000 restoration project that included draining the recreational lake in Jordan's Lagoon Park.

Jordan Mayor Ron Jabs spoke about a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 7. Here's some of what he said:

- Lagoon Park was originally dedicated to the city in 1929 by the flour company International Milling.

- The flood of 1960 deposited sediment in the Mill Pond that was many feet deep.
