As Minnesota’s deer hunters prepare for their fall hunts, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is looking forward to enjoying the fifth annual Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener in the Hibbing area. The event will celebrate our state’s rich hunting heritage, northern Minnesota’s outstanding wildlife habitat, fellow hunters’ camaraderie, and the statewide economic benefits of hunting.

The 2007 Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener will kick off on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 1, with the Big Buck Banquet. Tickets are available from MDHA’s State Office at 800-450-DEER for $30 per person. Ticket sales will be limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

The 2007 event is sponsored and/or supported by Cabela’s Inc., Wildlife Research Center, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, Explore Minnesota Tourism and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
