Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Reschedules Quilt to Remember Display
Cancelled for Mother’s Day Weekend, Set for Father’s Day Weekend
WHAT: A display of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) Quilt to Remember, originally planned for May 9-11, has been rescheduled for Father’s Day weekend, due to unforeseen circumstances at the exhibit venue.
WHEN: New dates: Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14-10am-9pm
Sunday, June 15-11am-6:30pm

WHERE: Mall of America-Macy’s Court, 60 East Broadway, Bloomington, MN

The 51st annual invention expo, held at the Redwood Area Community Center (901 Cook Street) in Redwood Falls MN, will showcase inventions from throughout the world. Spend the day in the Minnesota River Valley. Stop in to see the latest products coming into the marketplace. Hours 11:00 a.m. - 6:00p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tatanka Arts Festival. Minnesota Inventors Hall of Fame exhibit. Student exhibitors are in their booths from 1 until 4. Saturday enjoy the 3M Visiting Wizards on the MIC stage at 1 and 3. Stop by the KSAX booth to learn about free digital TV access.

The 1st Annual Jordan Softball Alumni games will take place on Saturday, June 14th at the girls varsity softball field. All former varsity alumni & family are welcome to join in a day at the ball field.

Pickup games start at 1pm and a potluck/BBQ will follow around 5pm. Please stop by for the whole event or come by to catch up with old teammates.

The Minnesota River Valley History Round Table is presenting an Old Fashioned Children’s Carnival at Canterbury Park on Sunday June 29, 2008 from 1-6 PM.

Children’s games and a children’s "cuddle" quilt raffle will be held. All games will be priced below 50 cents. This is a fundraiser for the Minnesota River Valley History Round Table which is a consortium of Carver and Scott County Historical Societies and The Landing (formerly Murphy's Landing) in Shakopee.

To celebrate the July 4th holiday, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community invites the public to a free fireworks display at 10 p.m. Friday, July 4. For the 14th year in a row, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is sponsoring an elaborate fireworks display at their pow wow grounds in Shakopee.

The Pow Wow Grounds are located on Dakotah Parkway, just south of County Road 42 between County Road 83 and County Road 17.

The fireworks will go on, rain or shine, unless there is severe weather. The display is put on by the SMSC Public Works Department.

Boom town to ghost town - A Scott County MN 150th Event

Gather up the family, pack your favorite picnic food and join in the fun. Visit an 1857 house that is the only remaining building of the ghost town of St. Lawrence. Bring a picnic, explore the house and join in on historic games, a puppet show and walking tour. Take part in a full day of activities to celebrate Minnesota’s Sesquicentennial at the historic Strait House.
