The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) along with Carleton College-Cowling Arboretum is sponsoring a Prescribed Burn Workshop for private landowners. The event will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cowling Arboretum Office located on the Carleton College campus in Northfield (Rice Co).

Celebrate Jordan takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Jordan High School, 600 Sunset Drive.

The trees that the SWCD sells are primarily used for conservation and erosion control purposes, but can be used in housing developments or community beautification projects. This will be the last opportunity to purchase trees in 2008 from the District.
