The Scott County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility and RE-USE Room will be closed from December 22nd through January 5th, to allow the facility staff to clean and restock the facility in preparation for the 2008 operational season. This means that the last day to drop off your HHW in 2007 will be Wednesday, December 19th. The HHW Facility will reopen for normal operation on Wednesday, January 9th.

The Scott West wrestling team doesn't take many weekends off, and this one will be no different. In fact, this might be the toughest one of the year.

The Panthers have traveled to Rochester for the sixth-annual "The Clash" national duals tournament. Action began today in Rochester and continues tomorrow in the dual-meet format tournament. Scott West was set to face Wheaton North, Illinois in the first round.

There are 32 teams in the tournament from 12 different states around the country. There are seven teams ranked in the top-38 in the nation.

The Belle Plaine Ambulance Association's pancake breakfast is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Belle Plaine Junior/Senior High School cafeteria.

Ridgeview Medical Center will have an information booth set up a the breakfast, and free blood pressure test will be given. 

The cost of the breakfast is $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-11, and $2 for children ages 5 and younger. 

Deliveries can be arranged by calling Tina at 952-873-5478 by Friday, Jan. 11.

The Panthers will invite Simley, Owatonna, Le Sueur-Henderson, Delano, and Minneapolis Patrick Henry to town for the dual-meet format.

The Jordan Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 26.

A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and the meal and meeting will ensue at 7 p.m.

The meeting includes installation of new officers and the presentation of the business of year award and the Anna Sandey Award. 

For $15, the menu consists of beef tips Bordelaise or chicken Marsala, along with a garden salad, potatoes, vegetables, rolls with butter, and a dessert.
